1. Find a physician that is treating you for a qualifying condition. Providers have access to an account called the Health Commerce System (HCS) where they can view providers that have registered to recommend medical marijuana.
2. You must have a consultation appointment with a certified physician to see if you would be eligible for medical marijuana.
3. Once you posses a certification from a registered physician, you must register with the Medical Marijuana Program through the Department of Health's online Patient Registration System. Website to register patient/proxy: www.my.ny.gov Note: New York State requires a photo of the patient/proxy’s face (head only) on a white background.
4. After your registration is processed, you will be issued a Registration Identification Card and you may visit a dispensing facility to obtain medical marijuana products. It is recommended to call for an appointment.
